Tony our lead vocalist gets himself a small walk on part in the forthcoming movie "TELSTAR" a film dedicated to the recording guru Joe Meek

Oh dear he dose look a bit of a nerd in a suit!!

On the crew bus suffering from an attack of morning sickness.

The EMI logo on the set of Telstar.

Con O'Neil is a fantastic actor and his portrayal of Joe Meek is nothing short of brilliant, and the actor who plays Heinz (JJ Field) is so much like him in mind and body its untrue, brilliant casting.

Check out this link for full casting info.

From the Famagusta Gazette in Cyprus

Sixties Reunion planned for Ayia Napa

Sixties pop stars The Honeycombs

A sixties star reunion music night to be held in the Ayia Napa area is beginning to take shape. The project, which will unite chart stars The Honeycombs and John Leyton is the brainchild of musician Tony Harte.

Tony Harte, who is the lead singer with The Honeycombs, told the Famagusta Gazette, “I think people in Cyprus are crying out for an evening of live music by well known performers, Ayia Napa is starved of this kind of thing”.

It was The Honeycombs that delivered Joe Meek's final UK number one hit ‘Have I The Right’. Their distinguishing mark was their female drummer, Honey Lantree.

The event may coincide with the big budget biopic of Joe Meek starring Kevin Spacey and Con O'Neil as Meek which due out early next year. Based on Telstar, the stage play written by Nick Moran, it features Meek's niece, Sandra Meek-Williams, and other relatives as extras.

Speaking from the set of the film, where he is playing former Decca Boss Sir Edward Lewis, sixties icon John Leyton told the Famagusta Gazette that he would love to perform in Cyprus, “I really hope that the plans for this event work out as I have always wanted to play on that beautiful island”.

Leyton also appeared in the acclaimed Guns at Batasi in 1964; and also starred in the popular film The Great Escape, and in Von Ryan's Express starring Frank Sinatra.
